Pursuing God's Presence

Feb 22, 2026    Pastor John Guillory

This powerful teaching challenges us to examine where we truly dwell in our spiritual lives. Drawing from Psalm 91 and the life of David, we're reminded that our original purpose wasn't to strive and struggle, but to walk in fellowship with God in His presence. The message confronts a fundamental question: Are we merely visitors to God's presence during church services, or have we made His presence our permanent dwelling place? We learn that dwelling signifies a choice, a place of habitation where we actually live. David's passionate cry in Psalm 27 reveals what should be our heart's desire - to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of our lives. This isn't about religious activity or checking boxes; it's about being consciously aware of God's presence every moment of every day. When we truly grasp that God is with us at all times, it transforms how we speak, act, and treat others. The teaching emphasizes that God is calling His people back to their first love, to return to the original purpose of creation - intimate fellowship with Him. This isn't just theological theory; it's practical Christianity that affects our marriages, families, careers, and every decision we make. The invitation is clear: come up higher and discover what it means to live, move, and have our being in Him.
