YOUR TABLE — BY INVITATION ONLY

What if the greatest battles we face are not out in the world, but at the table God has already prepared for us? Psalm 23 is far more than a passage for funerals. It is a roadmap for living with confidence, peace, and purpose in the middle of real, ongoing struggle. The shepherd of Psalm 23 does not promise to remove every enemy before blessing us. Instead, he sets a table right in their presence. That single image carries enormous weight. God does not say he will provide once the opposition is gone. He provides in the midst of it. The question this message forces us to wrestle with is a personal one: who have we been allowing to pull up a chair at that table? Fear, offense, bitterness, condemnation, worry, and doubt are not neutral thoughts we passively experience. They are adversarial voices that, when entertained, take a seat at a table that was never prepared for them. The practical insight here is both sobering and liberating. We may not be able to stop every thought from arriving, but we absolutely decide which ones we give a chair. When we understand who the shepherd is, what he has provided, and what his presence at the table means for us, we stop living as though the enemy has any real authority over our portion.
