The Blessings of Faithfulness

May 3, 2026    Senior Pastor John Guillory

This powerful message centers on a truth many of us overlook: our faithfulness to God's purposes directly determines the blessings and rewards we'll experience both now and in eternity. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 3 and the parable of the talents in Matthew 25, we're confronted with a sobering reality—everything we do in this life will be tested by fire at the judgment seat of Christ. The works we've done for God's glory will endure and bring eternal rewards, while self-serving efforts will burn away, leaving us saved but empty-handed. This isn't about earning salvation, which is secured through Christ alone, but about how we steward what God has entrusted to us. Are we using our gifts, talents, and opportunities to advance His kingdom, or are we merely occupying space? The message challenges us to move beyond passive church attendance toward active participation in kingdom work. Whether it's greeting at the door, cleaning up after fellowship, or sharing the gospel with a stranger, every act of faithful service matters to God. The question we must ask ourselves is this: when we stand before Jesus, will we hear 'well done, good and faithful servant,' or will we realize we've wasted our one opportunity to continue the works He started?
